The RJCB Duo is the acoustic team of Ricky Johnson and Chuck Bertrand. Natives of the Washington Metro area, this journey starts with our deep love of music of all genres but is rooted in a southern rock and country rock style that spans generations. We have formed this duo to get out and surround ourselves with the friendship and camaraderie that comes with performing in the DMV area venues with their strong support for local acoustic music and sharing in the storied classics and great new music that drive the acoustic music scene.

Ricky and Chuck have shared the stage on and off for the past 30 years in bands such as Outta Touch, Jammboxx and the Ricky Johnson Band. Our journey has taken us to the smallest of clubs playing to tiny crowds to national openers with the likes of 38 Special, The Outlaws, Blue Oyster Cult, Steppenwolf, Blackfoot, Molly hatchet, David Allen Coe and many others over our shared musical careers. What makes the RJCB Duo such a special project is the unique chemistry Ricky and Chuck share and have cultivated over the many years of this musical journey.

As our RJCB story unfolds, we look forward to the many faces and friends we will meet and share our music with. Our hope is that with every note played and every song we perform we will find a way to bring together a multi-generational following and create a lasting relationship that will build and sustain our musical family well into the future.
